How I work
I provide a confidential, supportive and safe therapeutic space. I work collaboratively with you so we can figure out what is going on together and help you find a way forward which feels realistic, relevant and achievable for you.
I draw on the different therapy modalities which are underpinned by developmental, attachment, somatic, relational, cognitive behavioural and psychoanalytical theories to find the most effective way to help and support you.
I am passionate about my work as a therapist. Big and small events and changes in our lives, whether planned or unexpected can sometimes feel really unsettling and affect our mental and physical health, and the mental and physical energy we need to help us deal with daily life. We hold stress in our bodies and our minds, often at a subconscious level so it can be hard to figure out what is going on and why we are behaving, responding and reacting in the ways we do. It is no surprise that research is telling us how untreated mental health problems can increase our chances of developing stress related illnesses. My professional background and training as a therapist alongside my master’s studies in ageing and mental health and my yoga and mindfulness training mean I am able to work very holistically with you and explore how your mental and physical health are interlinked.
I can help you to identify and think about different ways to support your wellbeing including exploring practical and realistic strategies and changes you may want to make in your life to support your health and wellbeing.
